Upgrading the Analog Sky Magic Binoculars Focuser – October 11, 2025

On October 11, 2025, I completed an exciting upgrade to the focuser of my Analog Sky Magic binoculars. This update significantly improves the usability and reliability of these already amazing binoculars.

What’s New in the Focuser?

The new focuser design introduces several key improvements:

• Enhanced Helical Thread Pattern
  The updated threading provides smoother and more precise focusing, making adjustments feel effortless.

• Gripfins for Eyepiece Stability
  These new gripfins firmly hold the eyepieces in place and ensure they remain perfectly centered during use. This is a big step forward for maintaining optical alignment.

How I Did It

The upgrade process was hands-on and involved:

• 3D Printing the New Parts
  Custom-designed components were printed to replace the original focuser parts.

• Full Disassembly of the Binoculars
  To install the new focuser, I had to completely take apart the binoculars—a delicate but rewarding process.

The Result

The update was a success! The focuser now feels much more reliable and precise, enhancing the overall experience of using the Analog Sky Magic binoculars.
