During a meeting in Vienna, I could enjoy the view of the 68 cm refractor telescope.  Especially the drive mechanism was very interesting.

We did a project for ESOC, the ESA Space Operations Center in Darmstadt, Germany. The final presentations were given in the press room of ESOC.

During a meeting at the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy (MPIA) in Heidelberg, Germany, we made a small walk to see the buildings of the Institute of Astronomy.  A lot of construction works were going on.

During our visit to the Provence, we also made a stop in Puimichel.  It snowed the day before, so we could enjoy the view of the domes in the snow.

We visited the open days of the Royal Observatory of Belgium.

In Gargellen, I could photograph the setting of the moon behind a nice mountain.

In Amandola, we had a very nice house in the mountains.  We took out the 20cm travel telescope to do some observing (mostly the planets Mars, Jupiter and Saturn).  There was quite some light pollution lower in the valley, which is clearly visible in the timelapse.  I also tried to make a composite showing the sky getting gradually darker.  One of the pictures show an Iridium satellite.

During our trip in Slovenia, there was a total moon eclipse. The weather did not look so good, and we were surrounded by mountains, so we drove an hour in the direction of Bléd.  Already during our drive, we could see the partly eclipse moon rise.  We found a nice location at the castle of Bléd, where we could see the eclipse above the lake and city of Bléd. Back in our house in Gozd Martuljek, I make a small timelapse showing the milky way and the rising, partly eclipsed moon.

During our holidays in the Alpes, we also visited Schönau am Königssee.  I could take some nightscapes and a nice timelapse with the rising moon.

During a trip to Nieuwpoort, Belgium, I could capture a very young moon.

On this fine evening, there was a very nice conjunction between the moon and Venus. 

This evening, there was a wide conjunction between the moon and Venus.  I took a picture from our garden.
